A seamless one-piece fibreglass shell that stops leaks, smooths the interior, and adds 15+ years of life to your pool. One Cape Town team, one workmanship guarantee.

About Fibreglass Lining

Why Fibreglass — and Why Us

Fibreglass relining is the most reliable long-term fix for a leaking, cracked or aged pool. We bond a continuous fibreglass shell over your existing pool interior — sealing every join, eliminating future cracks, and topping it with a smooth gelcoat that won't go porous. Most relined pools deliver 15 to 20 years of trouble-free use. Other Cape Town companies sub-contract this work out — we don't. Every lining is done in-house by the same crew, and you'll have a single point of contact from the first site visit to sign-off.

5-Year Workmanship Guarantee

Every fibreglass lining is backed by a five-year workmanship guarantee — in writing, signed off after the post-cure inspection.

Our Fibreglass Services

Five Fibreglass Pool Lining Services — Done In-House

Every fibreglass job we take on falls into one of these five service lines. Pick the one closest to your situation — each scrolls down to a full explanation of what we do, what to expect, and what it solves.

Full Pool Fibreglass Relining

A seamless new fibreglass shell over your existing pool interior. Stops leaks, smooths surfaces, 15-20 year lifespan.

Concrete-to-Fibreglass Conversion

Convert an old concrete or marbelite pool to a permanent fibreglass interior. Goodbye porous walls and constant repainting.

Crack & Hollow-Spot Sealing

Targeted structural repair for cracks, hollow spots and weak laminate. Sealed and re-glassed back to original strength.

Gelcoat Colour Finish

Premium UV-stable gelcoat in your chosen colour. Glossy, hard-wearing, easy to clean — the look that lasts.

Spot Fibreglass Repairs

Small patches, step repairs, fitting reseals, water-line touch-ups — short visits to extend a good pool's life.

Service 1 — Full Relining

Full Pool Fibreglass Relining

Your existing pool gets a continuous one-piece fibreglass shell laid over the interior — base, walls, steps and benches. We strip the old finish back to a key surface, repair any structural problems, then build the new lining in chopped-strand mat and resin, finished with a high-gloss gelcoat. The result is a watertight, smooth, modern pool that won't go porous, won't host algae in the surface, and lasts 15 to 20 years before any thought of redoing it.

Service 2 — Conversion

Concrete-to-Fibreglass Conversion

If you have an older concrete pool, a marbelite pool that's been resurfaced too many times, or a gunite pool that keeps cracking — converting to fibreglass is usually the smartest spend you'll ever make on it. We bond a fresh fibreglass interior directly to the prepared concrete shell, turning a high-maintenance pool into one you barely think about. Most older Cape Town pools are perfect candidates.

Service 3 — Crack & Hollow Repair

Crack & Hollow-Spot Sealing

Cracks in a fibreglass or concrete pool aren't always a sign that the whole pool needs to be redone. We assess each crack — hairline, structural, settling — and the hollow spots that often hide behind older laminate work, then make a clean, properly bonded repair. The repaired area is colour-matched to the surrounding pool and treated with the same gelcoat, so once it's filled with water you'd struggle to tell where the work was done.

Service 4 — Gelcoat Finish

Gelcoat Colour Finish

Gelcoat is what gives a fibreglass pool that smooth, glossy, easy-to-clean finish — and what defines the colour of the water. We use premium UV-stable gelcoats designed for South African sun, in your choice of colour, applied at the correct thickness for a finish that holds for the full lining lifespan. If you're relining, the gelcoat is included in your quote. If your existing fibreglass pool has just lost its colour and shine, we can re-gelcoat without a full re-line.

Service 5 — Spot Repairs

Spot Fibreglass Repairs

Not every pool problem needs a full re-line. Sometimes you've cracked a step corner, scratched through the gelcoat with a metal pole, blown a return jet, or you've got one stubborn leak around a light fitting. We run a small-job repair service for exactly these — a quick site visit, a proper fix, and you're back swimming. We'll always tell you honestly when a spot repair is the right answer and when a re-line will actually save you money in the long run.

Chopped-strand fibreglass mat is laid and rolled across the whole interior, then finished with two coats of your chosen UV-stable gelcoat.

4. Cure, Refill & Sign-off

Cure under controlled conditions, water-test every fitting, refill, balance chemicals, walk you through the finished pool, hand over your 5-year guarantee.

FAQ

Fibreglass Pool Lining — Common Questions from Cape Town Owners

For a standard residential pool, plan for 5 to 7 working days from drain to refill — slightly longer if there's structural repair work or the weather doesn't co-operate. We give a firm timeline as part of the written quote.

Price depends on pool size, surface condition, and whether structural repairs are needed. We send a written quote with indicative pricing after a free site visit — never an over-the-phone guess.

A properly bonded fibreglass lining with a quality gelcoat will give you 15 to 20 years before needing significant work. The interior gelcoat may need a refresh sooner if the pool gets heavy daily use, but the laminate itself is built to outlast the next owner.

Yes — this is one of our most common jobs. The existing concrete or marbelite shell is prepared, repaired where needed, and bonded with a continuous fibreglass interior. The end result behaves like a new fibreglass pool.

Yes, the pool has to be empty to be re-lined. Wherever possible we pump the water into bladders on-site and refill the pool when the work is complete — so you don't lose your full pool of water and we're not wasting Cape Town's resource.

Standard colours are Ocean Blue, Sky Blue, White, Slate and Sandstone. We can also colour-match to a sample on request — useful for matching a specific feature wall or mosaic.

Yes — every full fibreglass lining comes with a 5-year written workmanship guarantee. Spot repairs come with a 12-month guarantee on the repair itself.
