Parklands is flat, sandy and wide open to the summer southeaster, and every pool here knows it. We resurface, reline and repair pools at family homes, security estates and townhouse complexes across Parklands, and sort out the sand problems that come with them.
Through spring and summer the southeaster blows hard across Parklands, and it carries sand. That sand ends up on the pool floor, in the skimmer basket and in the filter. It scours the surface, it wears pump seals, and if the filter is not keeping up, the water turns dull and grey no matter how much chlorine goes in.
Most Parklands pools are family pools that get used every summer weekend and through the school holidays. Many are the original pools built with the house, and plenty of them are now rough, faded or losing water. They need a proper renovation, not another quick patch.

Parklands has both concrete and fibreglass pools, and each one needs a different approach. We find out what your pool is built from, how worn it is and whether it leaks, then recommend a finish.

For a concrete pool that has gone rough and patchy, a fresh coat of marbelite is the standard fix. We remove the worn layer, repair cracks and hollow spots, and apply a smooth new finish.
A fibreglass lining turns a porous concrete pool into a smooth, sealed one that sheds sand and dirt easily. For older fibreglass pools that have gone chalky or blistered, we prepare the old surface and recoat it.

A new finish will not last if the filter cannot cope with the sand or a pipe is leaking under the paving. We look at the whole system and fix it in one go.

Clean new waterline tiles that are easier to keep free of the grey scum wind leaves behind.

Cracks, hollow spots and broken steps are repaired before any new finish goes on.

We find out whether water loss is from wind evaporation or a real leak, and where it is.

Sand-heavy pools need a filter and pump in good shape, so we service or replace them as needed.

Garden space lets us store most pool water in a bladder and reuse it once the work is done.

Regular cleaning and filter care keep sand from wearing down your new finish.
Book a check if the pool stays dull after cleaning, if the filter needs backwashing far more often than it used to, or if the surface feels like sandpaper.
We work right across the Western Coast Suburbs, including Parklands, Table View, Sunningdale, Bloubergstrand and Milnerton.
The southeaster is mostly a summer wind, and a howling day full of sand is not ideal for applying a new finish. That is one reason we suggest booking resurfacing or relining in the cooler months. There are more calm days for the work, and the pool is ready by the time the family wants to swim.
Many Parklands homes are in security estates or sectional title complexes. Estates usually have contractor rules, set working hours and gate access procedures, and shared complex pools need trustee approval. Let us know when you book and we will handle the paperwork and plan around your estate's rules.
We check the surface, tiles, pipes, pump and filter, and test whether the pool is leaking.
We explain what needs doing and why, with the finish that suits your pool and budget.
The pool is drained into a bladder, then the old surface is prepared and repaired.
The new finish is applied, the pool is refilled and balanced, and the equipment is tested.

A filter in good condition, regular backwashing and emptying the baskets after windy days make the biggest difference. A pool cover helps a lot in summer. A smooth finish such as fibreglass also stops sand from clinging to the walls.
Yes. We clean and sand the old fibreglass, repair any blisters or cracks, and apply a new coat. It is far less work than replacing the pool.
Yes. We register with the estate, stick to its working hours and follow the gate procedures. Tell us the rules when you book and we will plan around them.
Wind does increase evaporation a lot in summer. A simple bucket test shows whether the pool is dropping faster than evaporation explains, and if it is, we do proper leak detection.
Autumn and winter are usually best, with less wind and no rush to swim. We work around rainy spells and aim to have the pool ready well before the warm weather.
Tell us about your Parklands pool and we will set up a free site visit for resurfacing, relining, leak detection or pump and filter repairs.
