Sunningdale was built in phases over the last twenty-odd years, so most of its pools are still on their original finish. Many are now showing their age. We resurface, reline and repair pools at family homes and gated estates across Sunningdale, and help you reuse the water while we do it.
Sunningdale is a planned suburb on the inland side of the R27, a short drive from the Blouberg beachfront, with curving streets, parks and green belts. The early phases near Parklands have mature gardens now, while newer streets further north are still filling in. Pool ages vary in the same way, from well used to nearly new.
The older pools are the ones we see most. A first finish that has done fifteen or twenty summers usually turns rough, blotchy or porous, and the original pump is often near the end of its life. This is the first big renovation for many of these pools, and it is worth doing properly so the next one is a long way off.

Choosing a finish for your first renovation is a bigger decision than it looks. The right answer depends on the shell, how the family uses the pool and how much cleaning you are willing to do, and we talk it through with you on site.

Marbelite brings a worn concrete pool back to a clean, even finish. We prepare the old surface properly, repair any cracks and hollow areas, and apply the new coat in the colour you prefer.
Fibreglass costs more than marbelite at the start, but it is smooth, non-porous and needs fewer chemicals to keep clean. For a family pool that gets heavy use every summer, it is often the better long-term choice.

A first renovation is a good time to fix everything that has worn out since the pool was built. We handle the surface, the tiles, the plumbing and the equipment together.

We replace faded or cracked original tiles with new waterline bands and mosaic details.

Settlement cracks, hollow patches and chipped steps are repaired before resurfacing.

We test whether the pool is really leaking and then pinpoint the shell, pipe or fitting at fault.

If the original pump is worn out, we can fit a more energy-efficient model during the renovation.

A bladder on the lawn holds the pool water while we work, so it can go back in afterwards.

We can look after the new surface with regular cleaning, testing and equipment checks.
It is time to have a look if the surface is blotchy or rough, if the pump has become noisy, or if the water level keeps dropping on calm, cool days when evaporation is low.
We work throughout the Western Coast Suburbs, from Sunningdale and Parklands to Table View, Bloubergstrand and Melkbosstrand.
Cape Town households have not forgotten the drought years, and nobody wants to send a full pool down the drain. Most Sunningdale homes have a lawn or enough garden space for a water bladder, so we pump the pool into it before work starts and put the same water back when the new surface has cured. You only top up what is lost along the way.
If you live in one of the gated estates, there will be contractor rules to follow. We register our team, keep to the permitted hours and make sure deliveries do not block the shared roads. Give us your estate's requirements when you book and we will build them into the plan.
We assess the surface, shell, tiles, pump, filter and plumbing, and look for signs of leaks.
We go through marbelite and fibreglass with you and put the recommendation in a written quote.
The water goes into the bladder, then we prepare the surface and repair cracks and fittings.
We apply and cure the new finish, return the stored water and balance it.

Water balance has a big effect on how a finish wears, and a few years of low pH or high chlorine can etch marbelite quickly. Sand and sun play a part too. We look at what caused it so the new surface lasts longer.
In most Sunningdale gardens, yes. We store the water in a bladder on site and pump it back once the new finish has cured, so only a small top-up is needed.
Yes. We register our team with the estate, follow its working hours and gate procedures, and keep deliveries off the shared roads as much as possible.
If the original pump is noisy, leaking or very old, it makes sense to do it now. A newer energy-efficient pump can also cut running costs, and we will tell you honestly if yours still has life in it.
Most jobs take one to two weeks on site, followed by curing time before the water goes back in. We give you a realistic timeline in the quote.
